Curriculum

The National Curriculum consists of ten subjects which all children must study at school.  These are divided into core and foundation subjects.

The foundation subjects are all found in our annual curriculum plan although there is a heavy emphasis on aspects of literacy and numeracy in the early years.  Foundation subjects may be studied across all three terms or may be allocated to one or two terms depending on the content to be covered. Each term we inform parents about the main topics the children will be covering.

Most subjects are taught separately although, with some, (ICT and D & T) there is often a link with other topics currently being studied.  A mix of whole class and group work is used.
