Governors

There are three main partners in the management of schools: the Secretary of State for Education, the Local Education Authority and the Governing Body.  A group of local people are elected and appointed as the Governing Body for St. James' Primary School.  We are responsible for making sure the school provides a good quality education.

The full Governing Body meets at least six times a year.  In addition, various committees meet regularly to discuss areas of  Finance, Personnel, Curriculum, Health & Safety, School Improvement, Premises and Special Needs.

If you are interested in becoming a Governor, please talk to one of us, the Headteacher or the Clerk to the Governors.
